Puri: A Plus II girl student was injured after being attacked with a blade by unidentified miscreants while she was on her way to college in Odisha’s Puri district on Friday.
Sources said the incident took place at Muguria under the juris
diction of Gop police station when the girl was reportedly proceeding to appear for an examination in the morning. The girl sustained grievous injury in the sudden attack and was unable to appear in the examination.
Police said unidentified miscreants attacked the student with a blade and fled the spot immediately. The victim sustained injuries to her neck, waist and chest during the assault. She was later found in an unconscious state. She was rushed her to Gop hospital for treatment.
An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances under which the attack took place and to identify the persons involved in the assault.
