Balangir: In a shocking incident, a Plus II girl student in was found dead with her throat slit inside her house at Nikhil Nagar slum area of Odisha’s Balangir district on Thursday.
It is suspected that some miscreant gained entry into the house when the girl was alone and attacked her with a sharp weapon before fleeing the spot.
According to the girl’s parents, she served them food before they went out to work in the field. However, as the girl did not reach the field by noon with lunch, they suspected something wrong and rushed back home where they found her lying in a pool of blood.
After being informed, police personnel along with the scientific team reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident. Being a slum area, there are no CCTV cameras installed in any houses in that area making it difficult to identify the accused.
