Plus II Girl Student’s Throat Slit In Hostel Of Private College In Odisha’s Angul

Angul: A girl student of a private college had a narrow escape as a miscreant slit her throat in the hostel in Odisha’s Angul district.

As per reports, the Plus II student from Nakchi in the district was sleeping in her room of the college’s ladies hostel in Angul town on Friday night when the miscreant slit her throat with a sharp weapon. The hostel officials rushed the heavily bleeding student to the district headquarters hospital.

On being informed, a team from Angul police station went to the hostel and questioned the inmates and the officials. They also wanted to know about the incident from the injured student. But she could not say anything as her condition was not stable.

On being informed by the college authorities, the student’s family came to the hospital and later, filed an FIR in the police station on Saturday.

Though the cause of the assault on the student has not been ascertained, the police were investigating the suicide angle also, the sources said.
