Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed all the higher education institutions,, including Central University of Orissa (CUO) in Koraput, through webcast from Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the occasion of 125th year of Swami Vivekanand’s historic speech at Chicago and centenary celebration of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on Monday.
The theme of the programme was “Young India, New India – A Resurgent nation: From Sankalp to Siddhi”.
On this occasion, the university had made necessary arrangements for viewing this event. Students, faculty members and staff actively participated and heard the Prime Minister with rapt attention.
Swami Vivekananda had represented India and spoke on Hinduism at the Parliament. He addressed the Parliament five times and his first lecture was on September 11, 1893.
