New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated multi-storeyed flats for Members of Parliament (MPs) at Dr BD Marg here via video conferencing on Monday.
Eight bungalows, which were more than 80 years old, were redeveloped to construct the 76 flats, news agency ANI reported.
A PMO statement said several green building initiatives were incorporated in the construction, including bricks made from fly ash and demolition waste, double glazed windows for thermal insulation and energy efficiency, low flow fixtures for conservation of water, rainwater harvesting system and rooftop solar plant among other features.
