Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Towers during his visit to INS Secretariat at Bandra Kurla Complex here on Saturday.

The new building with modern and efficient office space will serve as the nerve centre for the newspaper industry, he hoped.

Pointing out that the media is not a mute spectator of a nation’s condition but plays a major role in changing it, Modi highlighted the role of newspapers and magazines in the next 25-year journey to Viksit Bharat.

Reiterating India’s march to become the third-largest economy in the near future, PM Modi said it is the responsibility of the media to take India’s success to every corner of the globe.

He requested newspapers to enhance their global presence.

He also urged media houses to make use of the digital edition as there is no space constraint compared to printed editions.
