Bhubaneswar: Expressing happiness over commencement of work on the Talcher Fertilizer Plant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “It is an important step and with it, we are fulfilling dreams that were hanging fire since long. There was a time when people had lost all hopes for its recovery. I am very happy that the Rs 13,000-crore project has been started.”
The PM said that plant with latest technology would take the country in a new direction.
“We have to import urea from other countries. This project will help solve this problem. It will also generate new employment opportunities. Around 4,500 people will be involved in this project. Many facilities will also be available in the surroundings, and benefit the locals,” he said.
Modi further said that the fertilizer plant in Talcher will prove to be a boon for farmers in region.
“I have been informed that, the project will be completed and production will start in the next 36 months. I promise to be here again to inaugurate the plant,” he said.
He ended his speech saying that his government was committed to taking the nation to newer heights of progress with renewed energy and greater momentum.
