New Delhi: Subramanian Swamy on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘betraying’ India’s national interest by attending the SCO summit in Uzbekistan last month, when he met Chinese premiere Xi Jinping.
“Modi betrayed India’s national interest by going to SCO meet despite Xi Jinping distributing Chinese map at the event showing Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh as part of China… and with Chinese names in the ‘official’ atlas! Final kick to India: Russia has adopted Chinese names in their map!” Swamy tweeted.
The senior BJP leader, who is known to speak his mind irrespective of the consequences, went on to state that India should be “ready to wage war in all feasible dimensions” vis-à-vis the border conflict with China.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi recently said that the situation in eastern Ladakh is not yet normal, after Chinese envoy Sun Weidong claimed that the situation is “overall stable” as the two nations have moved from “emergency response” following Galwan valley clashes in June 2020 to “normalised” management.
