PM Modi Calls Up Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik To Take Stock Of COVID-19 Situation

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the COVID-19 situation in the state, ANI reported quoting sources.

Odisha reported 10,521 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, which is the highest daily surge in the state since the pandemic broke last year. The state’s tally of infections went past the 500,000-mark, while the number of active cases right now is 81,585.

The government has declared a 14-day lockdown in the state from May 5.

The Prime Minister also called on the chief ministers of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand, as well as LGs of Puducherry and Jammu & Kashmir to take stock of the COVID situation in those states and union territories.
