PM Modi, CM Naveen Patnaik Greet People On Nuakhai

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik greeted people on the occasion of Nuakhai on Sunday.

Taking to his twitter handle, Prime Minister Modi wished good health and prosperity for everyone.

In his message, Modi said “The special occasion of Nuakhai is about celebrating the hard work of our farmers. It is due to their efforts that our nation is fed. May this auspicious day bring prosperity and good health for everyone. Nuakhai Juhar!”


Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik too extended his best wishes. He used ‘Sambalpuri’ language to wish the people of western Odisha on the occasion of Nuakhai, the premier agrarian festival in the region.

He tweeted, “With new hopes and new rice, celebrate this brotherhood festival.  Wish you joy and prosperity on this occasion. Nuakhai Juahar to all the brothers and sisters of Western Odisha.”


Nuakhai is mainly observed by people of western Odisha to welcome the new rice of the season.
