As tradition, the Prime Minister of India hoists the National flag at Delhi’s iconic Red Fort and addresses the nation every year on August 15.
Last year, in his address on India’s 78th Independence Day, PM Modi’s speech focused on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’, outlining the Union government’s vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.
Modi often seeks suggestions from the public ahead of I-Day speeches and his radio talk Mann Ki Baat on Sundays.
