Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Odisha to participate in the celebrations marking the second anniversary of the BJP government in the state.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has officially granted approval for the visit, according to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The Chief Minister made the announcement during an ABVP national executive meeting. Majhi said he had personally extended the invitation to the Prime Minister during a recent meeting in Delhi.
“Four days ago, I went
to Delhi and invited the Prime Minister to Odisha,” the CM said, adding that possible dates under consideration for the Prime Minister’s visit include June 12, June 20, or September 17.
The Chief Minister confirmed that the PMO has given the green signal, paving the way for detailed preparations. “We have already started preparations for the visit,” Majhi added, underscoring the state government’s readiness to host a landmark event.
This visit holds special importance as it marks the completion of two years since the BJP formed its first government in the state in 2024. During his earlier interactions with the CM, PM Modi has consistently emphasised infrastructure development, investment promotion, and public welfare schemes tailored for Odisha’s progress.
Majhi said the Prime Minister’s presence would not only energise party workers but also serve as a public acknowledgment of the state government’s developmental initiatives and governance achievements over the past two years.
As preparations gain momentum, eyes across Odisha and the nation will be on the exact date and the key announcements expected during the high-profile visit.
