Sambhal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday showered praise on Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who was recently expelled from the Congress for ‘anti-party remarks’, for his dedication and efforts towards taking the concept of Kalki Dham forward.

Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of the Shri Kalki Dham temple here in Uttar Pradesh, Modi said that the Kalki Dham was yet another stream of devotion and spirituality that is eager to flow from the land of Ram and Krishna.

“Some people left a few good deeds for me to accomplish and I am confident that there are many that will be accomplished in future too,” Modi said, hailing Acharya Pramod for his dedication and efforts towards the Kalki Dham Temple project.

The Prime Minister congratulated Acharya Pramod Krishnam for taking the concept of Kalki Dham forward. Pramod Krishnam is the Chairman of Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust.

Modi said that Pramod Krishnam had to fight a long battle with the previous governments for the Kalki temple and even had to make rounds of the courts. “His fight has ended in our government,” he added.

The PM said that Acharya Krishnam gave him nothing, but expressed his feelings while indirectly taking a dig at possible corruption charges.

Drawing a parallel with Lord Krishna-Sudama encounter, he said if such a thing happens in current times, Lord Krishna would have to face corruption charges.

“He (Acharya Pramod Krishnam) said that everyone has something to give but I have nothing, I can only express my feelings. Pramod ji, it is good that you did not give me anything, otherwise the times have changed in such a way that if in today’s era, Sudama would give rice to Shri Krishna and the video would come out, a PIL would be filed in the Supreme Court and the judgment would come that something was given to Lord Krishna in corruption and Lord Krishna was doing corruption. It is better that you expressed your feelings and did not give anything…” Modi said.

Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Pramod said, ‘It is a matter of pride for us that Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of Shri Kalki Dham today.’

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to win over outsiders, while there are some unfortunate leaders who are working to alienate even their people,” Acharya Pramod said without taking any name.

The comments come amid recent desertion of some prominent leaders from Congress to BJP. Earlier this month, Acharya Pramod was expelled from the Congress party for alleged anti-party remarks.

Noting that the circle of time has moved, Modi said the country is not only bringing back its ancient idols from abroad but also getting record foreign investment.

Modi said on one hand places of pilgrimage are being developed and, on the other, cities are getting hi-tech infrastructure.

The programme was attended by seers and religious leaders from across the country.
