New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted US President Joe Biden at his official residence here for a bilateral meeting on Friday evening.
Biden, whose Air Force One landed at Palam airport just before 7 pm, drove straight to Modi’s 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence. Modi came out to welcome Biden, just as the US President had done at the White House in June.
The meeting between the leaders of the world’s largest democracies began at 7.45 pm and ended at 8.37 pm, reported India Today.
“Our meeting was very productive. We were able to discuss numerous topics which will further economic and people-to-people linkages between India and USA. The friendship between our nations will continue to play a great role in furthering global good,” Modi wrote on social media platform X and shared pictures.
Modi, who is hosting a private dinner for Biden tonight ahead of the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10, earlier today had bilateral meetings with Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and Mauritius PM Parvin Jugnauth.
Modi has a dozen more bilateral meetings lines up with other world leaders over the next two days on the sidelines of G20 Summit.
