PM Modi Reviews Situation As Cyclone Fani Makes Landfall

 

Jaipur: As cyclone Fani batters the Odisha coastline, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he reviewed the situation with senior officials of the Central Government.

Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan, he said that he held a review meeting to take stock of the development.

The Centre, he said, has already released Rs 1000 crore to the cyclone affected states.

He said he had also held a high level meeting on Thursday to review the cyclone-related preparedness.

Modi said both the Indian army and the navy is on standby for rescue and rehabilitation mission. They are also coordinating with the administrations.

He assured of all possible assistance to the state governments to deal with the disaster.

The cyclone is currently crossing over Bhubaneswar with its full intensity.

Large scale destruction to properties is feared.

The cyclone has already caused damaged in norther Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha.
