New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday commended the Indian armed forces’ “unparalleled courage, precision and resolve” in executing Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory mission following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack last year.
“A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during Operation Sindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam.”
“The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour,” Modi stated during India’s observance of the one-year anniversary of Operation Sindoor.
He emphasized that the joint military action embodied India’s resolute stand against terrorism and its steadfast dedication to protecting national security. The prime minister noted that Operation Sindoor exemplified the professionalism, readi
ness, and unified capabilities of the armed forces.
It further demonstrated the increasing integration across India’s military branches and the bolstered national security from the nation’s drive toward defence self-reliance, Modi added.
India stands as determined as ever to eradicate terrorism and dismantle the networks that sustain it, he declared.
In a post on X, PM Modi quoted a Sanskrit verse, portraying India’s triumph in Operation Sindoor as a powerful testament to the exceptional bravery and patriotism of its soldiers. “Every citizen of the country takes pride in their indomitable courage, unwavering resolve, and dedication to duty. A warrior with an exalted mind and vehicles, O Bharat. In whose army these are present, surely declare victory for him,” he posted.
He also changes his display picture on ‘X’ to ‘Operation Sindoor’, paying tribute to the valour and bravery of the Indian armed forces.
Operation Sindoor, executed by the defence forces alongside the BSF along the western border, struck terrorist and military targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir from May 7-10, 2025.
The operation responded to the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack, where 26 people—primarily tourists—lost their lives.
