Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to share glimpses from his ‘special welcome’ to Bhubaneswar, where he arrived on Tuesday morning for inauguration of Odisha’s biennial investment summit, now called the Utkarsh Odisha conclave.
Terming ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ as a commendable effort to boost investment and economic growth in Odisha, he also compliment the Odisha government for this effort. “The central and state governments are working to ensure maximum investments in Odisha so that the aspirations of our youth are fulfilled. Odisha will play a key role in furthering the economic growth of Eastern India,” he said in In the inaugural speech at the flagship business summit.
The PM further that that the trend of minerals being extracted from the country and sent abroad to manufacture products that are then sold back in India is “not acceptable” and is being changed. “Expansion of India’s economy rests on two major pillars — an innovative service sector and quality products. The country’s rapid progress cannot rely solely on the export of raw materials, so the entire ecosystem is being transformed. India is changing the trend as it is not acceptable to Modi..,” he said.
Highlighting India’s growing appeal for global artists, he lauded the success of the Coldplay concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad and urged both state and private sectors to focus on developing the necessary infrastructure and skills for live events. “You must have seen fabulous pictures of Coldplay concert organised in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It shows that India has a massive scope for live concerts. Big artists from around the world are attracted towards India… I expect the state and the private sector to focus on needed infrastructure and skills,” he said.
“India is a huge consumer of concerts. There are many possibilities for the concert economy,” he added.
British rock band Coldplay held five concerts in India as part of the Music of The Spheres World Tour. The concerts with all of its shows sold out were widely praised for their seamless organisation and vibrant crowd.
