New Delhi: As Telugu Desam Party (TDP) readies to form government in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday afternoon.

Naidu is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time. The swearing will likely be on June 9 and the Prime Minister will attend, NDTV reported quoting sources.

Union Minister Amit Shah also spoke to Naidu, the Statesman reported quoting agency sources.

The TDP is leading in 133 seats, BJP in eight, JnP in 21, and YSRCP in 13 out of the 175 assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004 and if he swears in this time, he will become the chief minister for a fourth time. He was also CM after the bifurcation of the state in 2014 but lost badly to YSR in 2019.

Both Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh are leading.

TDP is also leading in 16 out of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. The party is in alliance with BJP at the Centre.
