New Delhi: Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “non-political” interview to her husband, actor Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna wrote that she was happy to know that the PM knew about her existence.
A few minutes after the interview, the official handle of the BJP tweeted Modi’s remark about Twinkle and the actress-turned-author replied, “I have a rather positive way of looking at this-Not only is the Prime Minister aware that I exist but he actually reads my work :)”
During his interaction with PM Modi, Akshay Kumar asked him if he actively follows people and their conversations on Twitter. To which, PM Modi said that social media helps him understand what’s happening in the world. “Main aapka bhi Twitter dekhta hoon aur Twinkle Khanna ji ka Twitter dekhta hoon. Kabhi Kabhi toh mujhe lagta hai ki vo mere upar gussa nikaalti hai Twitter pe, toh uske kaaran aapke parivaarik jeevan mein badi shaanti rehti hogi. Unka pura gussa mujpe nikal jaata hoga, isliye aapko araam rehta hoga. Toh is prakaar se main aapke kaam aaya hoon. (I look at your Twitter and Twinkle Khanna ji’s Twitter too. Sometimes I feel since she vents all her anger on me on Twitter, your domestic life must be peaceful. So this is how I have been of use to you.),” he joked.
The PM also mentioned about meeting Twinkle Khanna’s paternal granddad Chunnibhai Kapadia many years ago.
A columnist and an author, Twinkle is popular as MrsFunnyBones on social media. Back in 2017, Twinkle Khanna had lashed out at Modi government for imposing hefty taxes on sanitary pads.
