New Delhi: With the country preparing to start the COVID-19 vaccination process sometime next week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to discuss preparedness of the states and union territories with all chief ministers on January 11.
The second mock drill — to understand the best way to go about the process — was held in 736 districts across the country on Friday, five days after the first exercise took place, The Indian Express reported.
The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) recently approved two vaccines — Bharat Biotech’s indigenously developed Covaxin and Oxford-AstraZeneca’s variant Covishield, manufactured under licence by Serum Institute of India —for restricted emergency use.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Friday that the vaccine will be made available in the next few days.
