Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of various rail infra projects worth Rs 3,223 crore during his visit to Odisha on Tuesday.
He will also flag off the inaugural run of Puri-Anand Vihar-Puri Express from Keonjhar and Paradeep-Kendujhargarh-Paradeep Passenger from Paradip railway stations through video conferencing from Chandikhol, an ECoR release said.
The passenger train services to coastal Kendrapada was a long-standing demand of the people in this region.
Governor Raghubar Das,, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw will grace the occasion at Chandikhole. The MP/MLAs will be present at Narla, Kantabanji, Paradip, Keonjhar and Baghuapal, it added.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar at 2.40 pm before directly proceeding to Chandikhol in Jajpur district by Mi-17 helicopter. He will lay foundation stones and inaugurate projects worth Rs 19,000 crore between 3.30 pm and 4 pm.
At around 4.15 pm, PM Modi will address a public meeting at Chandikhol. This will be his second public address ahead of the twin polls after a gap of almost one month. He had addressed a public meeting at Remed Ground in Sambalpur on February 3.
Winding up his around a little over 3 hours visit to Odisha, the Prime Minister will then leave for Kolkata at 5.50 pm.
RAIL INFRA
The Prime Minister will dedicate to nation, 162 Km Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura Rail Line. It will not only enhance the existing traffic facility’s capacity but also facilitates efficient transportation of Iron and Manganese ore from Keonjhar district to the nearest ports and steel plants, significantly contributing to regional economic growth.
He will also dedicate Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura Railway Section and 3rd line of Khurda Road-Barang Section.
PM Modi will also inaugurate CONCOR Container Depot at Kalinga Nagar, which is aimed at boosting domestic and international trade.
Foundation stone will be laid for Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Narla, Wagon Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Kantabanji and for upgrading and augmenting maintenance facilities at Baghuapal.
A new train between Puri and Anand Vihar (New Delhi) will be flagged off from Keonjhar railway station. The PM will also flag off the first train service, Paradeep-Kendujhargarh Passenger, on Haridaspur-Paradeep rail line route.
These apart, Container Train from Jajpur to Dadri, Uttar Pradesh will also be flagged off by him.
