New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet head honchos of 20 top American companies and address an audience of more than 1,500 diaspora and business leaders at John F Kennedy Centre in Washington during hi state visit to the US next week.
People familiar with the event and its logistics told ANI that business leaders like Mastercard CEO Michael Miebach, Accenture CEO Julie Sweet, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey, Adobe Systems CEO Shantanu Narayen and Visa Inc CEO Ryan McInerney are expected to meet Modi privately.
US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), the business advocacy group headed by Dr Mukesh Aghi, will facilitate the PM’s meeting with some of the big names in US corporate horizon.
Modi’s meetings with eminent industry leaders from across sectors will be after the Prime Minister attends the State Dinner at the White House and before leaving for an official visit to Cairo at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
“More than 1,500 invites have been sent out for the Kennedy Center event that includes some of the top CEOs and business leaders. Invites are also being sent to several officials in the Biden administration,” the source told ANI.
Modi will arrive in New York on June 21, when he will lead International Yoga Day celebrations at the UN headquarters.
The PM will leave New York for Washington DC the same day. On June 22, President Joe Biden will host him for a State visit, which includes a ceremonial welcome at the White House, bilateral talks, lunch sponsored by Vice-President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Cabinet ministers in the Biden administration and other top leaders are also likely to call on Modi during his first State visit of the US in his nine-year stint as Indian PM.
