PM Modi Turns 74: How Will He Celebrate His Birthday In Odisha Today? Check Here

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be celebrating his 74th birthday on Tuesday in Odisha, the state which provided BJP the much-needed succour with face-saving 20 Lok Sabha seats as its number dwindled in UP and Maharashtra in 2024 elections.

The state emerged as brightest spot in this overall disappointing result as BJP won 240 seats, a loss of 63 seats compared to its 2019 tally.

His birthday will be marked with inauguration of key welfare schemes, including ‘Subhadra Yojana’. Additionally, he will inaugurate 26 lakh PM Awas houses at Gadakana in Bhubaneswar.

Taking to his X handle, Modi informed that he was leaving for Bhubaneswar. “It is very special to be among the wonderful people of Odisha to launch SUBHADRA, an important scheme of the Odisha Government. This scheme will boost women empowerment and ensure financial independence for our Nari Shakti. Several other works will also be launched in the programme,” he wrote.

The PM is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 11 am and then proceed to Gadakana area near Sainik School, where he will interact with beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Thereafter, he will leave for Janata Maidan and reach there at 11.55 am for the launch of Subhadra Yojana, under which Rs 10,000 will be transferred to eligible women beneficiaries between the ages of 21 and 60 in the state every year in two equal instalments for a period of five years.

The financial assistance scheme, named after Goddess Subhadra, the sister of Lord Jagannath, was a key promise made by the BJP in its Odisha election manifesto. The Mohan Majhi government has budgeted for Rs 55,825 crore for the scheme for five years from 2024-25 to 2028-29. For the current (2024-25) financial year, a sum of Rs 10,000 crore has been kept aside for the scheme.

Modi is also slated to launch several railway and national highway projects worth Rs 3800 crore during the event.

WISHES POUR IN

President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt wishes to PM Modi and appreciated him for providing “extraordinary leadership” and increasing “the prosperity and prestige of the country”. “I wish that your innovative efforts with the spirit of nation first pave the way to make India a developed nation. I pray to God that you live long and always remain healthy and happy,” she wrote on X.

Top BJP and NDA leaders extend birthday wishes and praised his leadership.

Noted and sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik also extended birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “May Mahaprabhu’s blessings be with you always and your dreams of a Viksit Bharat be realized. Happy birthday, Hon Prime Minister @narendramodi ji,” he wrote on X
