PM Modi Unveils World’s Tallest Statue Of Lord Ram In Goa [Watch]

Tallest Lord Ram statue

Panaji: The world’s tallest statue of Lord Ram was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

The 77-foot bronze statue has been installed at Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in south Goa, on the occasion of 550th-year celebration of the Math.

The imposing structure was crafted by celebrated sculptor Ram Sutar, who earlier designed the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, the world’s tallest statue at 182 metres.

Modi, who offered prayers at the math, released a special postal stamp and commemorative coin to mark the occasion.

The math is headquartered in Partagali, a small town in south Goa, on the banks of Kushavati river. It’s the first Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math, and follows the Dvaita order, a system established by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century AD, according to an official release.

Several programmes have been arranged between November 27 and December 7 to mark the math’s 550 years. Organisers expect 10,000 people to be present at the math premises daily during this period.
