New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to leverage his popularity and encourage higher voter turnout in the coming elections.
In tweets on Wednesday, Modi tagged Naveen along with other party leaders and celebrities, appealing them to increase voter awareness and ensure high participation to strengthen the democratic fabric of the country.
Modi also included prominent citizens from various fields, sportspersons and Bollywood celebrities to work in this direction.
The political leaders included Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, M K Stalin, H D Kumaraswamy, Nitish Kumar.
The sportsperson who he tagged in his messages includes Sanchin Tendulkar, M S Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat, Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth.
The Bollywood actors tagged are Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and others with whom he had clicked a selfie recently, the photo of which went viral.
