Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off a Vande Bharat Express from Visakhapatnam to Odisha’s Puri next week. The new train is likely to be flagged off by the PM on March 12 through videoconferencing.
As per reports, the train may start from Puri in the morning and reach Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh by noon. The return train will leave Visakhapatnam for Puri in the afternoon, TOI reported.
The railways authorities are yet to share detailed information regarding the fare chart and stoppages.
The authorities are yet to finalise whether the train will go to Puri via Bhubaneswar or directly from Khurda Road station.
At present, two Vande Bharat trains are running in the state which connect Puri to Rourkela and Howrah. Rakes of the existing two trains are white and blue in colour. But the colour of the third train will be saffron-grey, the report said.
The Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Modi through video conference from New Delhi on September 24, last year.
