Bhubaneswar: The state BJP unit on Saturday announced that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on May 26.
The party announced the visit of the Prime Minister at its state executive meeting here.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, central BJP leader and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh said the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Odisha on May 26 to mark the completion of fourth year of the BJP government for which a huge public meeting will be organized at Baliyatra ground in Cuttack.
“As Modi has a special attraction for Odisha, he always gives top priority to this state. He always wants Odisha to emerge as a developed state like those in western part of India,” he added.
Asked about the performance of the party in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Odisha next year, Singh said considering the Modi wave which is sweeping across the state at present, it will be reflected in the election. “I am sure the BJP will form the next government in Odisha. We will achieve the 120-plus target in Odisha which the party’s national president Amit Shah had set during his recent visit to the state,” he pointed out.
BJP state unit president Basanta Panda said the Prime Minister will address a massive public meeting in Cuttack where he will tell the people about the achievement the government in the last four years.
“This will be the sixth visit of Modi to Odisha as Prime Minister. From this, it is clearly evident as to how much he loves the state,” Panda added.
