Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday issued a summons notice to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut in connection with the Punjab & Maharashtra Cooperative (PMC) Bank case.
Varsha has been asked to appear before the agency, which has been investigating the case, on December 29.
The PMC scandal erupted in September 2019 after customers’ withdrawal was restricted to just Rs 1,000. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) took action after finding financial irregularities.
Top officials of the bank are being investigated over bad loans amounting to Rs 8,300 crore. Varsha has been under the ED lens as well.
