New Delhi: Former Cabinet Secretary and Principal Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), P.K. Sinha, has quit his post citing personal reasons.
According to sources, the retired 1977-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer put in his papers on Monday evening.
Sinha got his appointment in the PMO in September 2019 after general elections soon after his retirement as the Cabinet Secretary. The former bureaucrat was earlier posted as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the PMO on August 30, 2019 following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Principal Secretary Nripendra Misra’s resignation from the post.
After Misra, Sinha was the second high-profile official to quit the PMO. Misra had resigned in August 2019 following the Lok Sabha elections, which prompted a rejig in the PMO.
