Sambalpur: Leading public sector bank Punjab National Bank (PNB), Sambalpur Circle in association with PNB Prerana and PNB Farmer’s Welfare Trust, has selected 123 poor and meritorious girl students from 18 districts for distribution of scholarships of Rs 2500 each in kind (consisting of books, stationery, school bags and school uniforms) under ‘PNB LADLI’ scheme.
PNB officials revealed this at the banks 123rd foundation day celebrations on Wednesday.
Under PNB LADLI’, which aims at promoting and popularizing education among girls of rural and semi-urban areas, the selected students will get Rs 2500 every year till they complete their 12th Standard.
The bank has also identified 100 poor and meritorious students of small and marginal farmers for scholarships
under PNB Kisan Balak Shikhsa Protsahan Yojana.
At a function in Sambalpur, Sumanta Mohanty, Circle Head, Sambalpur Circle awarded scholarships to 15 girl students under PNB LADLI, and 10 students under PNB Kisan Balak Shikhsa Protsahan Yojana.
