Sundargarh: A girl was shot at by a poacher by mistaking her to be a wild boar in Lamti village of Kulta panchayat in Sundargarh district on Sunday.
According to reports, the girl, Urbashi Nayak, and some other village women had gone to the forest to collect firewood when a poacher opened fire in the direction of the sound of dry leaves. The bullet hit Urbashi and she fell down.
The other women accompanying her rushed her to their village, Dhumagada, and from there to Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital.
The villagers also informed the police, who reached the forest and detained two persons.
