Nayagarh: A poacher reportedly sustained bullet injuries as he accidentally fired his gun in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Sunday.
As per reports, the poacher, identified as Sanyasi Jani of the district, had apparently gone with a gun for illegally hunting wild animals in a forest area near the border with neighbouring Boudh district on Saturday.
While roaming in the forest in the wee hours of Sunday, Jani slipped and fell down. On its impact, his gun accidentally fired and hit him on the back, sources said.
After the local villagers came to know about it, they admitted him in Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dasapalla. Later, he was shifted to a hospital at Nayagarh as his condition deteriorated, the sources added.
