Poisonous ‘Cobra’ Dies Of Man’s Bite In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: In a shocking news for wildlife lovers, a man killed a cobra by fiercely biting its body in Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.

According to sources, the man, identified as Salim Nayak of Darda village under Basta police limits, had gone to his farm field in the morning when a snake bit him. Later, he claimed it to be cobra.

Instead of going to hospital for treatment of the bite by the poisonous snake, Salim started searching for the snake. On finding the cobra, he caught hold of it in both hands and started biting its body with all his force and tore away chunks of muscles. He continued to do it till the cobra was dead.

Later, Salim carried the dead snake coiled wrapped around his neck with blood dripping from its body and rode his bicycle to the village. He also narrated the villagers about the incident for taking revenge on the poisonous snake.

Though the villagers were shocked by the acts of Salim, they neither informed the police nor Forest officials about the killing of the snake.
