The State Works Department has completed preparations for the inauguration of the flyover.

The construction work of the 653-metre railway overbridge had started in 2012 and was completed in the first week of this month.

The bridge executed by Panda Infra, the agency that had undertaken the Bomikhal overbridge construction work, has been constructed with an investment of Rs 32.55 crore.

The overbridge was scheduled to be completed in 2014. But its completion got delayed owing to problems related to land acquisition and encroachment.

However, construction work was carried out in full swing after all the legal hurdles were over.
