Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested 16 persons for assault and vandalism in two separate incidents in Bhubaneswar.
According to Commissionerate of Police, the accused persons broke into two houses in Padmakesharipur in the city on September 1 and 2. They threw away the household articles from the two houses.
The accused abused the family members including women and attacked them with weapons. They also took away money from the houses before leaving. Later, the two victims filed two separate cases in Mancheswar police station.
Following investigation into the complaints, the police arrested all the accused persons. During questioning, the accused confessed to their crime.
While further investigation into the cases is on, the police have launched a manhunt to trace two other accused, the sources said.
