Police Arrest 2 Youths For ‘Killing’ Minor Girl In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly killing a minor girl after she did not want to continue relationship with him in Odisha’s Balangir.

According to sources, the youth, identified as Milan Rana of Balangir town was in relationship with the 15-year-old girl for some time. But the girl wanted to end the relationship a few days back and started avoiding Milan.

On Thursday, Milan went to the girl’s house when her parents were not present and stabbed her with a knife. While the girl died on the spot, Milan fled after committing the crime.

Speaking to media on Saturday, Balangir SDPO Tophan Bag said two other persons were involved in the incident. “Besides Milan, Jitu Rana and another person had gone to the girl’s house. Milan and the girl had an altercation following which Milan killed her with a sharp weapon.”

The police arrested Milan from Vijayanagaram in Andhra Pradesh and Jitu from Sambalpur. The weapon and a motorcycle used in the crime have been seized and a manhunt launched to trace the third accused, Bag said.
