Rourkela: A man landed behind bars as he was going to get married for second time without divorcing his wife in Rourkela city.
According to sources, Anand Sharma of Jagda area in the city had married a woman as per Hindu rituals in 2013. The couple have a daughter. Six months back, differences cropped up between Anand and his wife.
Anand, who works in a private company, has been living separately following the dispute with his wife. He was paying a monthly amount as financial support to his wife.
Meanwhile, he decided to get married for second time and the marriage was fixed with another woman. While the marriage was going to be solemnised at Hanuman Vatika in the city, Anand’s wife complained to police about the entire matter.
A team from Uditnagar police station arrived at the marriage venue and stopped the function. They took Anand to the police station and detained him there. Following investigation, Anand was arrested.
