Dhenkanal: Police on Thursday cracked the death of a businessman in Dhenkanal with the arrest of his wife on charges of killing him.
Additional SP (Dhenkanal) Harekrushna Pradhan, Aruna Patra had hatched a plan along with her male friend to kill her husband Mantu Patra.
“The woman poisoned Mantu’s food after which she and her male friend killed him by slitting his throat,” he said.
The male friend is absconding and efforts are on to nab him, he added.
Patra, a native of Medinipur in West Bengal who ran a jewellery store, was found dead at his residence in Patnaik Sahi under Town police limits in Dhenkanal district on September 3.
Town police had rushed Mantu to the district headquarters hospital assuming him to be alive. But, the doctors had declared him brought dead.
