Tahir Firing Case: Eight Of Tito Gang Arrested

Bhubaneswar: Police, on Friday, arrested eight members of Kendrapara-based notorious gangster Tito’s accomplices in connection with the recent firing on terror suspect Abdur Rehman’s brother Tahir.

Six of the accused were arrested this morning basing on the basis of information provided by two other members of the gang identified as Alekh Routray and Kala Babu. The duo were nabbed after an encounter in Cuttack on Thursday night, police sources said.

Tahir was shot at over a tender fixing dispute related to an irrigation department project, the sources added.

On March 29, a group of unidentified men fired at Tahir at Jagatpur area in Cuttack. Tahir sustained bullet injuries on his leg and was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
