Police ASI Found Hanging From Tree In Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: An ASI of police reportedly died by suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Thursday.

According to police sources, the deceased, Renu Prasad Patnaik, was serving as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Tentulikhunti police station of the district.

Belonging to Tumbarla village in Papadahandi, he was staying in the Police Colony of Tentulikhunti. He had gone to Nabarangpur town on some work on Monday but had not returned home since then.

Some local people found the ASI hanging from a tree near a canal in Tentulikhunti on Thursday afternoon and informed the police.

A police team went to the spot and seized the body. They started investigation by enquiring about Patnaik from the local people. They would send the body for post-mortem on Friday, the sources said.
