Bhubaneswar: In order to ensure strict compliance of COVID-19 guidelines in business establishments, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Friday personally made an inspection at Bhubaneswar Unit-II Market Building to check whether the norms were being followed or not.
The Commissioner conducted the inspection along with the DCP after holding a meeting with representatives of different traders’ associations earlier on the day. He sought their cooperation in following the social distancing and mask norms in market areas.
During inspection, the Commissioner warned that police will be forced to close down the shops if COVID-19 guidelines are not followed properly.
On September 16, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had expressed displeasure over increased violation of mask-wearing and social distancing norms. Following this, the Commissionerate Police has intensified enforcement of the guidelines.
