Bhadrak: Sarpanch of Bhatapada panchayat Swarnamayee Jena on Monday lodged a complaint at Tihidi police station against seven persons, who allegedly shot a TikTok video at a quarantine centre in Bhadrak district violating the social distancing norms.
In the video which has gone viral, six persons can be seen dancing close to each other.
This quarantine centre is a school where several people of Bhatapada panchayat are being kept after having come in contact with two COVID-19 patients, sources said.
Quarantine centres have been set up in almost all gram panchayats in Odisha for the mandatory 14-day isolation of migrants and suspected corona cases. Those at the centres have to strictly adhere to the quarantine guidelines, which includes social distancing.
Amid reports of migrants fleeing such centres, Chief Secretary Odisha Asit Tripathy on Sunday had said that any violation of quarantine norms will be dealt with sternly. The violators would be arrested, the quarantine period increased and no incentive would be paid them, he said, adding that they would be shifted to a quarantine centre away from their respective districts.
