Bhubaneswar: A police complaint has been lodged against a man and his son for allegedly misleading and exploiting people in the name of religion in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, a social organisation has filed FIR against one Kashinath Mishra and his son at Bharatpur Police Station in the capital city.
Kashinath has been accused of projecting his son as ‘Kalki Bhagwan’ and asking people to worship him. It was also alleged that the man has been adopting unethical method to manipulate the religious beliefs of people and extract money from them.
As per the complaint, he charged money for different purposes including education, employment, family issues and health problems.
The social organisation has alleged that the father-son duo disrespected religious symbols and tradition.
A picture of Holy Tusli kept near the feet of Kashinath’s son has gone viral on social media.
According to a functionary of Rajya Samajsevi Mahasangha, the man has been giving religious sermons in different places to mislead people and exploit them.
Sources said Kashinath’s son, who is now aged around 18 years, is studying.
While no comments could be obtained from Kashinath and his son, police are looking into the matter.
