Police Complaint Lodged Over Jailer Seeking A ‘Head’ In Viral Audio In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: An audio clip has sparked a row in Kantabanji area of Odisha’s Balangir district after it went viral. Woman jailer of Kantabanji sub-jail is allegedly heard in the purported viral video telling a man that she wants a head, dead or alive.

As per reports, it is not clear as to whose head the jailer, Bikaslata Baru, was allegedly talking about. People are wondering as to why the jailer wants someone’s scalp.

Even as mystery shrouded the whole episode, a local journalist, identified as Nimain Charan Mahat, has claimed that the jailor was referring to his head. Fearing a threat to his life, the scribe has lodged a complaint at the Kantabanji police station.

He claimed that the jailer is perhaps angry after a report about Kantabanji jail was published in a newspaper he works with. He claimed that the jailer was heard speaking to another local journalist in the viral audio. Therefore, police complaint has been lodged against both the jailer and the local scribe, he reportedly said.

The jailer, however, has reportedly dismissed the claim and said that it was all a joke as she actually talking about a fish head.  Claiming that the complainant had also demanded Rs two lakh from her, Baru reportedly said  that she also needs protection as she is a tribal woman and lives alone.
