Police Constable Arrested For Ganja Smuggling In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Two persons included a police constable have been arrested for allegedly transporting ganja in Odisha’s Malkangiri.

Acting on a tip-off about ganja smuggling, a team from Malkangiri police station launched patrolling in the town for checking the vehicles on Sunday night. During the patrolling, the team found suspicious activities at Markapalli square.

When they police went to the spot, they found ganja being loaded on a vehicle. Before they could take any action, three persons including the vehicle driver ran away. But the police managed to nab Sarat Chandra Hantal of Markapalli from the spot and recovered 21 kg of ganja from the vehicles.

During questioning, Hantal revealed to the police that constable Manoj Muduli was also involved in smuggling of the ganja from the place. Later, Muduli was arrested.

The police have registered a case and forwarded both arrested persons to the court on Monday.
