Bhubaneswar: A police constable’s body was found under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Boudh district on Saturday.
The constable, identified as Uday Ranjan of Balisahi from Purunakatak area of Boudh, had been posted at Baliguda police station in Kandhamal.
Uday’s body was found in a garbage dump near his home, according to locals. He had come home on on leave a few days ago.
Local police have initiated an inquiry into the incident. As per preliminary investigation, the constable was killed by one of his neighbours. They reportedly had a history of animosity.
The neighbour killed Uday four days ago and hid the body at the dump yard, according to police. The accused has been detained for questioning.
