Police Detain 4 Youths From Bhubaneswar Apartment On Suspicion Of Online Fraud

Bhubaneswar: Police have detained four youths from outside Odisha on suspicion of committing online fraud following a raid on the house of an apartment in Bhubaneswar.

According to police sources, the youths were staying in flat number 602 in sixth floor of the apartment in Sundarpada of the city. Following reliable information that they were manipulating online games and duping the people, the police conducted the raid.

ACP Anjana Tudu said the four occupants of the flat, who were found during the search, are from outside the state. Several electronic gadgets have been seized from their possession. Those included SIM cards, mobile phones, laptops, WiFi devices and CCTV cameras besides four passports.

The detained youths were being questioned about their activities and the details of their operation would be known after investigation, Tudu added.

Meanwhile, the residents of other flats in the apartment told the media that they youths were not interacting with anybody else. They were mostly staying indoors and when asked about their profession, they only said that they were working for a company but did not reveal much.
