Police Excess: Odisha’s Puri Youth Roughed Up In Full Public Glare

Puri: A youth was mercilessly roughed up by the police on the road at Pipili in Puri on Monday night.

The man has been identified as Nrusingha Pradhan of Hasanpur village under Pipili block. 

In a viral video surfaced on social media, a police officer was purportedly seen hitting the youth with a baton while two other cops held his hand.

According to sources, the youth fought with a fuel pump employee over fuel fill in his vehicle. On being informed, police reached the spot and tried to resolve the matter. Later, the police thrashed Nrusingha on the road.

The precise cause of the alleged police excess is still unknown. 

Meanwhile, neither the man nor the police have commented on this connection.
