Lucknow: Days after being granted conditional bail, Pakistani national Seema Haider (30), her 25-year-old lover Sachin Meena and his father are being questioned by Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) at an undisclosed location in Noida, reported India Today.

This follows a 72-hour ultimatum issued to Seema to leave the country by right-wing outfit Gau Raksha Hindu Dal.

Seema, who illegally entered India through Nepal with her four children and reached Greater Noida where Sachin lived, had been prohibited by the court from leaving India without informing the police. She was also asked to inform the court if she changed her given address.

Seema and Sachin fell in love after interacting virtually on the gaming app PUBG Mobile.

The duo was arrested on July 4 in Haryana’s Ballabhgarh after a lawyer they had approached for marriage alerted authorities. Sachin’s father was also arrested, before all three were got bail four days later.

Even as Seema made her intention of marrying Sachin and setting up home with him in India clear, there has been opposition to her illegal travel from Pakistan.

Ved Nagar, president of Gau Raksha Hindu Dal, released a video saying Seema could be a Pakistani spy and pose a threat to the country.

“We won’t tolerate a woman from a traitorous nation. If Seema Haider does not leave the country in 72 hours, we will begin an agitation,” Nagar said in the video.

Seema earlier appealed to UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath to allow her to stay in India.

“Please let me stay back in India with Sachin. If you send me back to Pakistan, they will stone me to death. I would rather die here than go back to Pakistan,” Seema said in an interview with Aaj Tak.

Adding a twist to the cross-border love story, Seema’s husband Gulam Haider appealed to the Indian government to send his wife and children back home. He alleged that his wife was lured and manipulated to come to India through PUBG.

Seema’s friends and family, on the other hand, made it clear they don’t want her to return to Pakistan.
