Koraput: Police claimed to have cracked a suspected case of ‘honour killing’ in Koraput district with the arrest of five persons on Tuesday.
The arrests were made in connection with the death of Parsuram Muduli and Dhanamoti Muduli, both natives of Mundipadar village, who were found dead near railway tracks at Kusumi village on June 21.
Among those arrested for the double murder are Dhanamoti’s father, brother and three other relatives.
“Prima facie, it appears to be a case of honour killing. We have arrested five persons, including the woman’s father and brother. They will be court forwarded today,” said Koraput SP KV Singh.
Police have also recovered the murder weapon, he added.
